Literal Alchemy

    This week’s puzzle is based on a tricky word game: try to turn one word into another word by just changing (adding, subtracting, or replacing) one letter at a time.  However, each step along the way has to be a real word too. 

    Here are two examples:

Change BLUE into RED:

BLUE > FLUE > FLEE > FEE > FED > RED

Change BIG into SMALL:

BIG > BIT > SIT > SILT > SILL > MILL > MALL > SMALL

    Now, the puzzle: TRAP can be changed to DOOR in six steps.  This week’s discount code is the the middle word in that series.
